About Us

WHAT WE BELIEVE:

God the Father
There is only one true and living God Who is perfect, personal, infinite, and He exists eternally in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26; Psalm 139:8; Ephesians 4:4-6; Isaiah 45:5-7; John 4:24; John 1:14). We believe He is the sole Creator of the universe, which He accomplished from no pre-existing substance, but by the creative power of His spoken Word (Genesis 1:1-3; Colossians 1:16-17; John 1:1-3). He is Omnipotent (Isaiah 40:28; Psalm 115:3; Isaiah 44:24), Omnipresent (Psalm 139:1-24) and Omniscient (Romans 8:28; I Corinthians 4:5).

Jesus the Son
We believe Jesus is truly God and truly man, existing for all eternity and having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a life without sin, was crucified on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven where He now reigns as our High Priest and Mediator. (Matthew 1:22-23, Isaiah 9:6, John 1:1-5, 8:58, 10:30-38, 12:45, 14:10-30, 17:5,24, Hebrews 1:3, 4:14-15, 7:3, I Corinthians 15:3-4, Romans 1:3-4).

The Holy Spirit
We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify Jesus Christ and during this age, to convict men of sin, indwell, guide, instruct, comfort and empower the believer for godly living and service (John 16:8-11; 14:16-18, 26; Romans 12; I Corinthians 6:19-20; Ephesians 4). We further believe that all Christians have been promised the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in their lives. The Holy Spirit gives gifts of ministry to each one for the good of the body (I Corinthians 12:4-7).

The Bible
The Bible is the written revelation of God through his prophets and apostles, being fully inspired, absolutely inerrant in the original documents, infallible, and God-breathed. It is the only authority for all faith and practice (Psalm 19:7-12; Hebrews 4:12; I Corinthians 2:6-16; Matthew 5:18; John 17:17; II Timothy 3:15-17; II Peter 1:20-21; Romans 15:4).

The Church
The Bible teaches that all who place their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and are baptized become a part of one, united spiritual body, called the church (I Corinthians 12:13). The church was created by God, not man, and the head of this body is Jesus (Ephesians 5:23b; Colossians 1:18). The task of this body of believers is to make disciples in all the world by winning the lost to Christ, along with building one another up and equipping for ministry. (Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 4:11-16).

The Virgin Birth
Old Testament prophecy confirms that the Messiah would be conceived through the Holy Spirit by way of a virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14). The news of virgin birth came from various messengers throughout Scripture, from prophets to angels (Matthew 1:23), and is clearly presented as truth in the birth narrative of Jesus and throughout all of the Bible. If we are to believe in the inerrancy of Scripture (which we do), we must fully accept the truth of the virgin birth as well.

Christ’s Resurrection
We believe that Christ was fully, physically dead after his death on the cross and was also fully, physically resurrected on the third day. He appeared to his disciples and a variety of believers over the next several days before ascending to heaven from the vicinity of Bethany (Luke 24).

Baptism
The Bible teaches that baptism is the full immersion into water of a person responding to the gospel. In the New Testament church, every believer was commanded to be baptized (Acts 2:38). Baptism symbolizes cleansing and forgiveness of sins (Acts 22:16), the new, or second, birth (John 3:5), the circumcision of the heart (Colossians 2:11-12), as well as the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ (Romans 6:3-5).

Salvation
The Bible teaches that we are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). Salvation does not come as the result of something we have done but rather because of what God has done. It is a free gift that cannot be earned or deserved (Romans 6:23). We receive that “gift” by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Spiritual Gifts
The Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit gives gifts to the body for the accomplishment of the Lord’s commands to the church (I Corinthians 12:11; 14:26b; Matthew 28:18-20). The exercise or use of any spiritual gift must be operated in accordance with Scriptural principles and under the oversight of the eldership of the local church.
